How long to re-hydrate cigars?
So I got a bunch of cigars for my birthday about 4 weeks ago, and I didn’t have a humidor or the little humidor packs, so I just had them in their little zipped up bags in a sock drawer. But I just got a humidor and put my cigars in there last night, and I was wondering how long they would need to sit in there before they were re-hydrated and good to smoke.
Help?

Take her slow & put it in the dryest part of the humidor for a coupla weeks. Then, move it to a moister area of the humidor for a coupla weeks. Then, refresh the humidor again & wait a coupla more weeks.
Depending on the conditions, of course, a week is not all that bad. The cigar may be ready to smoke in a week or two.
I was gifted about 1/2 a box of Montecristo “A”s that had rested in the guys closet for about 2 years. I brought em back slow & they are just fine, except for the fact that the year of issue was one where the “A”s were almost universally plugged

Just to reiterate what was previously posted, they must be rehydrated very slowly otherwise they’ll ‘explode’
If allowed to get too dry, they will have lost many of their essential oils and taste little like they should have
